Ski Bogus Basin

Winter in the mountains is more than enough reason to visit Southwest Idaho during the snowy season. Many of the same areas you might visit during summer on backpacking or hiking trips transform during winter into a wonderland of serene, quiet beauty. Bogus Basin Ski Resort, 16 miles north of Boise, is the place to explore 2,600 acres of skiable, snowboardable terrain from beginner to highly advanced levels. (76 runs - 7 chair lifts, Nordic skiing, rentals and lessons available.) You can even hit the slopes when the sun goes down, as Bogus has more night skiing terrain than any other ski area in the northwestern United States. Long cruisers, powder glades, bump runs, winding bowls, a snowboard park, a tubing hill and 32 km of cross-country trails are waiting for you. Additional cross-country trails are located within an hour's drive of Boise.
